New Delhi, June 7 (UNI) Director Sanjay Raina’s highly anticipated film ‘WHO AM I’, has become the ‘Top Finalist’ in the Lift-Off’s Filmmaker Sessions Online (FSO) Film Festival, which is being held at Pinewood Studios England, UK.
Directed, written, edited and produced by Sanjay Raina, in collaboration with Manav Films, ‘WHO AM I’ has been selected in the judges round. This film is a heartfelt depiction of the struggles and triumphs of the Kashmiri Pandit community.
The film explores the pain of being in exile, the tears of moving away from one's own land, and the sadness of facing the exodus. Despite these challenges, the Kashmiri Pandit community has joined hands to revive their language, culture, traditions, and literature. "WHO AM I" is an experimental film that showcases the real-time stories, interviews of poets, social activists, media professionals, and actual visuals of literature, culture, language, and traditions collected over a period of time.
Raina, a Kashmiri Pandit himself, has lived through the pain and happiness of his community. Every shot of the film is a depiction of what he feels and what his brothers and sisters across the globe feel. The film is a humble attempt to weave together the pains and gains of Kashmiri Pandits, highlighting their struggles with identity and their efforts to pass on their culture to the next generation.
"WHO AM I" is also a winner of nine international and national Awards, two Best Director Awards, one Best Editing Award, two Nominations for best editing, one Honourable Mention, eight Top finalist Awards, among others.
The film features a talented cast, including Jitin Raina and Rashi Koul, and is a testament to talent of true indie filmmaker.
