Samvaad- A tribal conclave to commence from Nov 15 in Jamshedpur

Ranchi, Nov 8 (UNI) The fifth edition of Tata Steel promoted Samvaad 2018 which is a platform designed for exchanging thoughts on tribalism in the country will be held from November 15-19 at Gopal Maidan in Jamshedpur with the theme of this year being ‘Coming together for Social Change’.
In an interaction with the press, Head CSR Tata Steel Sourav Rai said that in the programme a total of 1400 participants including those from 17 states and 12 nation’s abroad would be participating. He said that tribal communities from the length and breadth of the country and abroad have converged on this ‘neutral’ platform and discussed the main issues being faced by the community and said that the event acts as a meeting ground for tribal artists, development practitioners, social activists and experts from different walks of life.
He said that during the five day programme which would be inaugurated on November 15 on each of subsequent days discussion would be held on a particular themes in the day while in the evening cultural programmes would be held. Mr Rai said that other added attraction of the event would be the tribal cuisine, tribal dance forms and music while people would also get to meet the tribal healers. He said that at the venue more than 60 stalls would be set up where products manufactured by the tribal artisans and handicraft makers will be sold.

Kolkata, Apr 19 (UNI) An estimated 66.34 percent of 5.6 million electorate exercised their franchise till 3 PM in the first phase election to three Lok Sabha seats in North Bengal with Cooch Behar, Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri recording 65.54 per cent, 66.23 per cent and 67.28 per cent polling respectively.
