Samridh Sen celebrated his 19th Birthday with the biggest ever win

Kolkata, Jul 12 (UNI) The Kolkata leg of the much awaited Eastern India Classic 2019 tour finally came to a thrilling end today after two days of hard fought, exhilarating golfing action.
It was a warm and humid day unlike the first day of the tour and proved to be a test of stamina for the Golfers, young and old alike.
The final day saw some unexpected turn of events as hometown lad Samridh Sen, who finished the first day on the second position has emerged victorious in the amateur category after putting on a brilliant display over two days, through 36 holes.
Samridh shot a one-under on the first day and a level par on the final day, taking his total to one under par over two days. Sandeep Yadav took the second spot, finishing a close second scoring a total of 3 over par in two days.
In the other categories, Bijit Roy bagged the first spot in the Mid Amateur category beating Abhijit Bora with a score of 168 over two days with 140 being the overall score. Pradip Das prevailed in the Super-Senior category while Lt. Colonel Tiwary finished on top among the seniors. Among the ladies, exciting prospect Geetika Ahuja took home the glory with a total score of 8 over par; seeing off a stiff challenge from Shinjini Mukherjee. In the under-13 junior category, Dishan Ghosh finished on top while Julinka Roy Chowdhury won in the under 9 category.
Eastern India Classic 2019 was supported and hosted by The Tollygunge Club.
