Saint Gobain to invest additional Rs 1000 cr in Chennai plant

Chennai, Jan 13 (UNI) Saint-Gobain would be expanding its
glass manufacturing facility at Sriperumbudur, about 40 km
from here, with an additional investment of Rs 1,000 Crores
over the next two years to meet the growing demand.
With this, the company's cumulative investment in this
facility would touch the Rs 3,000 crore mark.
These investments will add significant manufacturing
capacity and capabilities to the complex which includes
float-glass plant and a new magnetron coater plant, a
company release here today said.
It said the third float-glass plant to come up on this
site will be the largest in India and the Region, and will
be equipped to manufacture a wide range of complex
products catering to the needs of sustainable habitat
and affordable luxury.
It will be an automated, energy efficient, scalable
and flexible, state-of-the-art integrated glass facility,
it said, adding, the plant will feature several innovative
processes that are being deployed for the first time in
India and the Region.
Keeping in mind the global trends, Saint-Gobain will
be investing in a second magnetron coater facility.
With this,the complex will have the capacity to
manufacture 144 million sq ft of high-performance,
High-Selective, Energy-Efficient Glass catering to
entire Africa, Middle-East, ASEAN, Oceania region.

PHD Chamber identifies 10 key enablers for India to become Viksit Bharat by 2047

New Delhi, Apr 17 (UNI) Industry body PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry has identified 10 key enablers including ease of doing business, reducing cost of doing business such as cost of capital, power, logistics, land among others, that would lead the Indian economy to “Viksit Bharat by 2047”
Releasing a blueprint for “Viksit Bharat by 2047”, the PHDCCI said the Indian economy is displaying robust growth post Covid pandemic despite continued global headwinds. India’s economy will become USD 34.7 trillion by 2047 with per capita income of USD 21000.
