SAD opposes closure report in Bargari sacrilege cases

Chandigarh, Jul 13 (UNI) Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Saturday strongly opposed the filing of a closure report pertaining to three incidents of sacrilege in Bargari by the CBI in a Mohali court and demanded that the report be withdrawn and investigation into the sacrilege cases be taken to their logical conclusion.

Terming the development as unfortunate, the SAD president said the sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji at Bargari had shocked the entire nation. “This is not an ordinary crime but one which has emotional ramifications. The SAD is committed to ensure the culprits responsible for this heinous crime are exposed and brought to book as it concerns the community at large. Keeping this in mind we demand the CBI withdraw the closure report immediately”.
