Sabarimala: Royal representative at Sannidhanam

Pathanamthitta, Jan 17 (UNI) Pandalam royal family member Uthram thirunal Pradeep Kumar Varma reached at the Lord Ayyappa temple at Sabarimala on Friday evening which would mark the official culmination of the Makaravilakku festival.
The chief priest gave a customary welcome to him at the temple. The member would stay at a bungalow in Malikappuram till January 21.
The temple would close down after the Makaravilakku festival on January 21.
The 'Ezhunellippu' (procession) from Manimandapam in Malikappuram to 'Pathinettampadi' (18 steps before reaching to the temple) and 'Nayattuvili' would be held on Saturday.
The customary procession to Saramkuthi would be conducted on Sunday. At the same time, devotees would be able to offer 'Neyyabhishekam' till 1100 hrs on Sunday. It would be followed with 'Kalabhabhishekam'.
The temple would be closed for the devotees following the 'Padipuja' and 'Harivarasanam' on Monday. The royal family member will pay obeisance to the deity in the wee hours on January 21.
When the team carrying Thiruvabharanam leaves the shrine, the royal family member would close down the doors of the sanctum sanctorum and hand over the keys to the chief priest.
The pilgrimage season would conclude when the chief priest and the royal representative descend the hill shrine.
