Dhaka, Mar 28 (UNI) National Action and Coordination Group (NACG), Bangladesh, a Civil Society Platform of SAARC, called on all concerned, including the government, to give priority to child protection issue while addressing Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The issue of children should get priority regarding steps aimed at containing the outbreak of coronavirus. There are many children, who are unable (or placed at greater risk) to be united with their families, and street children and unaccompanied children, NACG said in a statement.
While giving its proposition on the current situation, NACG said, those children need to be registered by the local authorities as a priority and then be extended with protection care at temporary safe shelters.
