S Lalwani is Indore’s BJP aspirant

Bhopal, MP, Apr 21 (UNI) After considerable introspection, the saffron camp late Sunday ended a period of suspense by announcing the name of Mr Shankar Lalwani as the candidate for its citadel Indore parliamentary constituency, which has been represented by outgoing Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan since 1989 without interval – a total eight terms.
With this, the Bharatiya Janata Party made public the names of all its nominees for Madhya Pradesh’s 29 voting areas.

Mrs Mahajan earlier expressed a desire not to contest. Another influential BJP leader hailing from there is party General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya. Mr Lalwani – who has served as the saffron party’s Indore city head and is considered close to Mrs Mahajan – is on collision course with the Congress’ Pankaj Sanghvi.
