Russian Ombudswoman says appealed to UN to condemn Kiev’s attack on Russia

Russia, Aug 11 (UNI) Russian Human Rights Commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova said on Sunday she had appealed to UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk to condemn the Ukrainian offensive in the Russian western region of Kursk.
“As a result of the barbarous attack on the Kursk Region by the Ukrainian armed forces, thousands of civilians suffered… I sent an appeal to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to condemn terrorism on the part of Ukraine and take measures to prevent gross mass violation of human rights," the official wrote on Telegram.
The federal ombudsman noted that regional human rights commissioners are working together with government agencies in temporary accommodation centers where residents of the Kursk region have arrived. Moskalkova's office is involved in providing humanitarian aid to them.
