Russian COVID-19 Vaccine lags behind US candidates: White House

Washington, Aug 11 (UNI) White House adviser Kellyanne Conway on Tuesday claimed that the Russian novel coronavirus vaccine lags behind vaccine candidates developed in the United States and does not seem to be in the human trials phase.
Sputnik quoted Conway expressing his doubts regarding the Russian vaccine is in the human trial phase. "I think we got three or so [candidates] in phase III, which is the final phase - the testing phase. It doesn’t seem based on these reports out of Russia that they are in that type of phase where you are actually doing the clinical trials, the human trials,".
Conway claimed that the US coronavirus vaccine candidates are approved in conjunction with much more stringent standards, hence seconding the views of National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci who had earlier expressed hope that vaccines developed by Russia, China and other nations will meet the same strict testing requirements that US manufacturers face.
