Russia to cooperate with new Bangladesh regime: Envoy

Russia, Aug 8 (UNI) The political turnaround in Bangladesh is its internal issue and Moscow will cooperate with any leadership of the country, Russian Ambassador to Dhaka Alexander Mantytskiy said on Thursday.
"We understand that the political turnaround in Bangladesh is its internal issue. We will cooperate with any leader, with any government," the ambassador told the Rossiya 24 broadcaster.
On Monday, resigned Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her sister fled the official residence in Dhaka. Protests began in Dhaka and across the country after the announcement of a multi-day "non-cooperation action" with the authorities, which was launched on Sunday by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement. Clashes between students, police, and government supporters escalated into riots.
