Moscow, Oct 19 (UNI) At least 15 people had died, while more than 13 had gone missing, after a dam on Seiba river in Krasnoyarsk collapsed after heavy rain on Saturday, inundating several cabins of the workers, who worked in a gold mine, nearby.
According to the Russian Health Ministry, 14 miners had been taken to hospital and three had suffered severe injuries. Russia's Investigative Committee said in a statement that it had opened a criminal probe into the safety violations at the gold mine.
'The hydrotechnical facility was self-constructed and, I believe, all rules I can and can not think of were violated,' Yury Lapshin, head of the Krasnoyarsk regional government, was quoted by RIA, as saying.
