Mumbai, Jun 19 (UNI) The Rupee on Wednesday appreciated further by two paise to 69.68 against the US Dollar, on renewed selling of US Dollars by bankers and exporters, dealers at Forex Market informed.
Easing crude oil prices in local domestic market and foreign fund inflows supported the rupee.
The Forex traders said investors are waiting for the outcome of the monetary policy of Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC), Bank of England and Bank of Japan, scheduled this week.
The rupee opened strong at 69.57 at the interbank forex market then gained further ground to touch day high of 69.49 per dollar, displaying gains of 21 paise against the greenback.
High fluctuation was witnessed as as it registered day high and low at 69.78 and 69.49 respectively.
The Rupee remained firm for today due to weak dollar against other world currencies, the dealers added.
On Tuesday, the rupee had settled at 69.70 against the US dollar, up by 20 paise.
