Rupee up by 22 paise against USD

Rupee up by 22 paise against USD

Mumbai, Nov 9 (UNI)) The Rupee on Friday advanced by 22 paise to 72.77 in opening trade on brisk selling of US Dollars by bankers and exporters, dealers at Forex Market said.



Rupee opened strong at 72.65 up by 34 paise against its Tuesday close, following US mid-tem election results and easing crude oil prices.

The local unit ralllied on weak Dollar against other world currencies in early trade, dealer informed

Postive domestic equity market also supported the rupee, dealers said.

On Tuesday, the Indian rupee recovered by 12 paise to end at 72.99 per US dollar on increased selling of the greenback by exporters and softening crude oil prices.

The forex market was closed on Wednesday and Thursday on account of ‘Diwali’ and ‘Diwali Balipratipada’ respectively.
