Rupee rises by 24 paise against USD

Mumbai, Jun 20 (UNI) The Rupee on Thursday appreciated further by 24 paise to 69.44 against the US Dollar, on renewed selling of US Dollars by bankers and exporters, dealers at Forex Market informed.

Positive close in local domestic market supported the rupee, however foreign fund outflows and rising crude oil prices weighed on the local unit, they said.
The rupee opened strong at 69.47 at the interbank forex market, high fluctuation was witnessed as as it registered day high and low at 69.67 and 69.43 respectively.
The Rupee remained firm for today due to weak dollar against other world currencies, dealers added.
On Wednesday, the rupee had settled at 69.68 against the US dollar, up by 2 paise.
