Rupee recovers by 9 paise against USD

Mumbai, Jan 23 (UNI) Snapping a negative trend of last three

sessions, the Rupee recovered by nine paise to 71.34 against the US

Dollar on Wednesday on fresh selling of US Dollars by bankers and

exporters, dealers at Forex Market said.

Sliding by 46 paise in last three sessions, the local unit

jumped by 26 paise to 71.17 in early trade.

Till the end of the day it slipped from opening rate but managed

to end positive only at 71.34, up by 9 paise as compared to its last

close.

High oscillation was seen during the day as the indian currency

registered day high and low at 71.40 and 71.14 respectively.

The Indian currency went up because weak dollar against all other

currencies, it added.
