Mumbai, Jan 17 (UNI) The Rupee on Wedneday recovered by 15 paise

to 64.03 against US Dollar on Selling of US Dollars by bankers and

Exporter dealers at Forex Market said.

The rupee strengthened today as the Government has lowered its

additional borrowing plan to Rs. 20,000 crore for the fiscal from

the earlier proposal of raising an extra Rs 50,000 crore from the

market. The reduced borrowing would help contain fiscal deficit

within the target.

Postive close in the domestic equity market also the indian,

they added.



The local unit opened weak by 4 paise at 64.07 at the Interbank

Foreign Exchange market today.



The indian currency registered days high and low at 64.09 and

63.75 respectively.

Yesterday, the rupee had lost 55 paise its biggest single-day crash

in eight months to end at a fresh three-week low of 64.03 against

the US dollar, hit by a double whammy of rising global crude prices

and worsening trade deficit.
