Rupee ends up by 5 paise against USD

Mumbai, Oct 22 (UNI) The Rupee on Thursday recovered by five paise to close positive at 73.53 against the US Dollar on selling of US Dollars by bankers and exporters, dealers at the Forex Market said.



Sliding by 24 paise in the last three sessions, the local unit dropped by 13 paise to open at 73.71.

During the day it erased earlier losses, and ended positive at 73.53, rising by five paise as compared to its previous close.

The Rupee rose on Thursday because of weak Dollar against other world currencies despite weak equity market, the dealers added.

The rupee registered the intra days high and low at 73.84 and 73.50 respectively, he added.
