Rupee ends at 70.15 against USD life-time-low

Mumbai, Aug 16 (UNI) The Rupee on Thursday finished life time
low at 70.15, tumbling down by 25 paise as investor sentiment
affected by a widening trade deficit on the domestic front and the
broad rise in the US dollar versus other Asian peers.
The market opened on a weak note, as the domestic unit fell by 28
paise to 70.12. During the day it lost ground by 49 paise to 70.39
days high.
Finally, it closed at 70.15, sliding by 25 paise as compared to
its last close.
It registered day high and low at 70.39 and 70.12 respectively.
The negative equity market also dragged the indian currenty,
it added.
The dollar held near a 13-month peak on Thursday as political
turmoil in Turkey and concerns about China's economic health
continued to support safe-haven assets and weighed on emerging
market currencies.
