A legislator from Rajkot (West) and Cabinet minister in Anandiben Patel government, Mr Rupani, was unanimously elected on Vijay Muhurat at 1239 hrs amid chanting of shlokas at the state party headquarters ‘Kamalam’ here. Mr Rupani took over as the 10th party president of Gujarat BJP amidst difficult times as the party recently lost its stranglehold over rural Gujarat, losing majority of taluka and district panchayats to Opposition Congress after a gap of 20 years.
