Ruling BJD MLA Saroj Meher sent to judicial custody for forcing an Engineer to do sit ups in public

Bhubaneswar, Jun 24 (UNI) Ruling BJD MLA Saroj Meher from patnagarh assembly seat involved in asking a PWD engineer to do sit up in full public for low quality work, was today arrested by Bolangir police and later sent to judicial custody by the court.
On June 6 last, a video showing the BJD MLA asking Junior Engineer of Public Works Department Jayakanta Sabar to do sit up 100 times in public went viral in the social media.
The incident took place near Belpada area in Bolangir district.Although the MLA tender apology after the incident but the Engineer’s wife lodged FIR with the Patnagarh police station against the MLA for torturing her husband mentally and physically.
