Ruckus in Odisha Assembly, House adjourned till 1600hrs

Bhubaneswar, Oct 3 (UNI) Opposition BJP on Tuesday created a ruckus in the Odisha Assembly demanding expungement of the anti people remarks against the opposition by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

The BJP members also demanded the lifting of the suspension order served on two of their colleagues - Mohan Charan Majhi and Mukes Mahaling from the house by the speaker for allegedly throwing pulses at the podium of the Speaker.

They trooped into the well of the house and shouted slogans in support of their demands disrupting the question hours forcing Speaker Pramila Mallick to adjourn the house till 1600 hours.

As soon as the House assembled for the day at 1030 hours on Tuesday to take up the question hour, the BJP members carrying placards rushed into the well of the house and demanded the speaker to expunge the anti people remark of the Chief Minister against the Opposition.

The Speaker asked Panchayati raj Minister Pradip Kumar Amat to reply to a question.
As soon as the Minister stood up to reply to the question, the BJP Members raised their slogans inside the well , disrupted the proceedings of the house and did not allow the minister to speak.

Finding it difficult to conduct the business of the house, the Speaker then adjourned the house at 1033hrs till 1600hrs.

The Chief Minister in his statement in the house had stated that the opposition members should be happy that so many grievances in their areas have been resolved.
He came down heavily on the Opposition and said “I do not understand how someone can oppose the solving of people's grievances. Such opposition is anti-people and people will give them a befitting reply for such attitude.’’
