RTR flyover will ease traffic going towards Airport, Gurugram: Kejriwal

New Delhi, Jul 16 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday inaugurated the newly constructed Rao Tula Ram (RTR) flyover, and said it will help in easing the traffic going towards Airport and Gurugram.
Mr Kejriwal inaugurated the newly constructed flyover in a function organised at RTR Flyover at Outer Ring Road, near Munirka here.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Mr Kejriwal said,'Congratulations Delhiites. Overcoming all hurdles your govt finally succeeds in opening the RTR flyover from today. No more traffic jams on your way to the airport.'
Addressing the mediapersons after the inauguration of the RTR flyover, the Chief Minister said,'the flyover goes from Munirka to IGI airport. The commuters will now easily travel towards airport and Gurugram due to this flyover. Traffic congestion will be over and the environment will be saved.'
'We are developing entire Delhi for both poor and the rich. We want to make Delhi number one city in the entire world. The flyover is 2.85 km long and the estimated cost was Rs 364 crore,but the actual cost of construction was Rs 205 crore,' he said.
On being asked if Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will be given second chance in the upcoming Assembly elections in Delhi, Mr Kejriwal said,'People accept that our government is working for the benefit of the Delhiites. We don't know how to do politics, we only know how to work for the welfare of the people.'
PWD Minister Satyendar Jain, MLAs Somnath Bharti, Parmila Tokas, Surender Singh were also present in the programme.
The flyover will provide relief to commuters travelling from Munirka, Hauz Khas and Greater Kailash.
The flyover branches out of Munirka flyover and ends before Army Research and Referral Hospital near Subroto Park close to National Highway-8. The construction of the elevated road was started in November 2014.
