New Delhi, Dec 15 (UNI) The Rajya Sabha on Friday paid tributes to ten former members and Marshal of
the Indian Air Force Arjan Singh.
On the first day of the winter session, the House also condoled the deaths in a boiler explosion in NTPC and due to Cyclone Ockhi in South India.
Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu read out obituary references to former members Khamsum Namgyal Pulger,
S B Ramesh Babu, Rishang Keishing, Jayantilal Barot, Makhan Lal Fotedar, Gaya Singh, Dr Ishwar Chandra Gupta, Mirza Irshad Baig and Sukomal Sen.
Mr Naidu also read out obituary references to Mr Arjan Singh, Marshal of Indian Air Force, and those dead due to Cyclone Ockhi and boiler explosion in the NTPC.
The Chairman also congratulated the women's hockey team for their performance in the Asia Cup and member Mary Kom for winning Gold at the Asian women boxing championship.
