RS MP asks Gadkari to speed up 'Aurangabad-Jalgaon' road project

Aurangabad, Jul 2 (UNI) A Rajya Sabha MP on Tuesday asked Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari to take the necessary steps to speed up the four lane 'Aurangabad-Jalgaon' road project that has been under construction for past one year.

A press statement said that Shiv Sena leader Mr Dhoot today met Mr Gadkari in New Delhi and submitted a memorandum pertaining his demands, wherein he asked Mr Gadkari to speed up the work of the above said road as the delay has led to a fall in number of tourists visiting the world famous Ajanta Caves, which is about 100 kms from here.
"Poor road infrastructure has deterred tourists from visiting the second century cave monuments," Mr Dhoot said adding that it projects the state of Maharashtra in a negative light.

Besides, this prolonged delay has also led to dust storms, which is severely affecting land and health of the farmers living nearby the site.
Mr Dhoot also asked Mr Gadkari to take strict actions against those who have delayed the work.
