Rs 7513 cr sent directly to farmers' accounts: Dushyant Chautala

Chandigarh, May 24 (UNI) Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Tuesday said that the state government is committed to buy every grain of wheat of the farmers at MSP.
Farmers are being paid for their crops on time and the money is being sent directly to their bank accounts, he said and added that so far, Rs 7513.62 crore has been transferred to the accounts of farmers.
In a statement here, the Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the portfolio of Food, Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, said that from April 1 to May 15, 2022, a total of 41,40,135 metric tonne of wheat was procured by various agencies of the government, while when procurement was started again from May 16 till May 23, 2022, 6,441 MT wheat has been procured from the farmers i.e. total 41,46,576 MT wheat has been procured, so far.
