Royal ceremony of Dasara festival cancelled in Kolhapur

Kolhapur, Oct 19 (UNI) The royal ceremony of Dasara festival, organized on "Vijayadashami day" of Navratra, had been cancelled on the backdrop of ongoing corona epidemic in the state.
After a meeting between Shreemant Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj (Kolhapur) and district collector Daulat Desai at new palace, a royal resident, which was held late this evening to discuss present situation of corona pandemic in the district and to take precautions on the backdrop of likely transitional threat, officially announced of cancellation of royal ceremony of Dasara festival.
This was the first time after independence, that cancellation of royal festival, which was organized by Chhatrapati Charitable Trust at historic Dasara Chowk on Vijayadashami day to celebration Dasara festival.
