Rotten, stale, inedible food items found in cricketer Ravindra Jadeja's restaurant in Gujarat

Rajkot, Oct 6 (UNI) Team India's cricketer Ravindra Jadeja's restaurant 'Jaddu's Food Field' in the city was raided by the Health Department of Rajkot Municipal Corporation on Friday during which rotten, stale and inedible food items weighing around 75 kg were found and destroyed. This is the second time in less than a year that the restaurant based on complete cricket theme with even its sign board giving wickets look, situated on Kalawad road in the city has hit the limelight for wrong reasons. Earlier in December last year an illegal construction in its backyard adjoining kitchen was demolished by the RMC. Deputy Health officer P P Rathod, who led the team which also conducted raids on nearby McDonald food court and some other eateries as part of its ongoing routine check drive, said that several food items including rotten cooked vegetable, such raw potato and tomato etc were found stored in fridge and elsewhere. 'The kitchen was also looking quite unhygienic. There were several stale items as well. We have destroyed the rotten food items and a notice has been issued to them for violation of FSSAI norms and other rules,' he said. Over 200 kg of such food items were also recovered and destroyed from McDonald eatery. Notably, Jadeja, a native of neighbouring Jamnagar, had established the restaurant in 2012. It boasts of serving ' lip smacking' range of Mexican, Chinese, Thai, Indian, Continental, Pizza, Burgers, Baked Dishes, Beverages and Punjabi cuisines. The restaurant reportedly managed by Jadeja's sister and another relative on its website claims, 'We ensure to make use of pure ingredients, which are procured from authentic vendors.
