Rotary-led water conservation program awarded US$2 million to help farmers in India

Kolkata, May 28 (UNI) With limited irrigation facilities in India, many farmers are dependent on rainfall, leaving them vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.
Extreme weather events like droughts, floods, and storms affect soil fertility, crop yields and livestock production – all of which have led to reduced productivity and income for farmers.

Manipur Cong demands an early resolution of crisis in Jiribam

Imphal, June 15 (UNI) The Congress party has demanded an immediate end to the crisis in Jiribam district, which has led to the displacement of about 1600 people. An advance convoy of Chief Minister N Biren Singh that went to Jiribam district was attacked by Kuki militants, which led to the injuries of three security personnel earlier. The Chief Minister has yet to visit the district.

A fire breaks out near Manipur Secretariat

Fire tenders rushed in to control the fire as the building was adjacent to the BSNL office and other important government offices. The CM’s official residence and DGP office lie on the opposite side of the fire.

NEET examiners protest in Patna, demand cancellation of exam
