Patna, Sept 21 ( UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said six more ropeways would be constructed to promote tourism in the state.
After inaugurating a ropeway, constructed at an expenditure of Rs 9 crore 18 lakh at Mandar Hills in Baunsi block of Banka District, Mr Kumar said reaching the Hilltop was now easy with the 377.36 metre long ropeway . He said that the people can now enjoy the scenic beauty from the Hilltop as they can commute easily using the rope way.
The chief minister said the number of tourists had increased following construction of ropeway at Rajgir and now a new ropeway constructed at Mandar Hills would attract more number of tourists . He said that the Paapharni pond and other spots around Mandar Hills would be developed and beautified.
He said that after Rajgir and Mandar Hills, ropeways wood be constructed at 6 places for which a work plan was being prepared.
Kumar said the historical and spiritual places along with places of Archaeological importance of Banka District would be developed under the dream project which would also generate livelihood for the local people.
Addressing the gathering , deputy chief minister Tarakishore Prasad said Hindu and Jain devotees would be visiting Mandar Hills in large numbers following construction of the ropeway.
