Rodriguez, Trump hold first call on bilateral “unresolved issues”

Mexico City, Jan 15 (UNI) Venezuela’s acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, spoke with US President Donald Trump in a phone call to address “unresolved issues” between their governments.
Rodríguez described the conversation as “long and courteous” and said it focused on a cooperative agenda for both countries as well as outstanding bilateral matters. This marks the first officially confirmed contact between the two leaders since Rodríguez assumed office on January 5.
Rodríguez became acting president after US forces captured President Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores on January 3 in an operation called Absolute Resolve.
