Roads to dozens of far-flung, remote areas near LoC closed due to fresh snowfall

Srinagar, Dec 10 (UNI) Dozens of far-flung and remote villages near the Line of Control (LoC) -- including border towns of Keran, Tangdhar, Karnah and Gurez -- were on Monday cut off from their respective district headquarters due to fresh snowfall and slippery road conditions in north Kashmir.
“The road between Kupwara and border town of Keran was closed due to fresh moderate to heavy snowfall since early on Monday morning,” a Police Control Room (PCR) official told UNI over the phone from Kupwara.
He said the road has become slippery, adding that no traffic movement was allowed to avoid any accident.
