Roads of meritorious students' villages to be constructed in UP: Maurya

Lucknow, Jun 27 (UNI) To boost the morale of the toppers in the board examination, the result for which declared here on Saturday, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has said that the Public Works Department will construct the road to the house of the meritorious students who topped the 10th and 12th board exams.

Congratulating the successful students, Mr Maurya said that these children are the future of the country and this continuation of their success in future examinations should remain the same. Mr Maurya said that the government will make a magnificent paved road from the main road to the homes of 20 students, topping the 10th and 12th Board exams . Deputy CM, who also holds the PWD department said that apart from the UP board, a pucca road will be constructed to the homes of the toppers of CBSE, ICSE and other boards.

The roads will be named after former President ` APJ Abdul Kalam Gaurav Path’ as the great scientist always remained `Role Model’ and an aspiration of students, Mr Maurya said adding that one big hoarding having details of the achievement of the student will be also installed so that it would motivate other students of the area to concentrate on studies.

Mr Maurya claimed that in 2017, they constructed and done repair work in the name of 24 student and spent Rs 7.40 crore while in 2018, construction and repair work in name of 89 students has been done with a total budget of Rs 23.17 crore. Similarly last year they spent Rs 9.89 crore on construction and repair work on roads in the name of meritorious students. Deputy CM also expressed serious concern over the rising infection of Corona and appealed to the citizens to comply with the guidelines issued by the government for protection.

nCoV: 385 test positive, 3 dead in Chhattisgarh
