Road inaugurated by former President on the verge of massive destruction

Ambassa (Tripura), Aug 27 (UNI) The road inaugurated by the then President of India R. Venkatraman way back in 1991 has remained on the verge of massive destruction due to the degradational works of the river in the bordering subdivision of Longthorai valley in the northern Tripura district of Dhalai here.
The Manu-Chaingleta road in the subdivision of 8 km length has been treated as the life line of the subdivision. It has been inaugurated by the then President of India R. Venkatraman in 1991.
At least 1,50,000 people depend on the road for their communication, transportation and earning livelihood. "But after the recent flood the road has started to break as the water level of the river Manu has started to decrease and land slides continued to happen", one inhabitant of Chailengta identified as Ripan Chakma has informed.
