Road accident claims eight lives in Mexico

Mexico City, Feb 22 (UNI) As many as eight people, including two women, were killed and six injured after a van collided with a tractor-trailer in the northern Mexican state of Durango, local authorities said.
According to them, the incident occurred at around 0715 local time (1315 GMT) on Friday near the highway connecting the villages of San Miguel de Cruces and Coyotes, part of the municipality of Pueblo Nuevo.
The injured were rushed to the hospitals of El Salto city and the state capital city of Durango.
Further investigations were underway, they added.
