Lucknow, Nov 30 (UNI) India's Rituparna Das lost to Thailand's Phittayaporn Chaiwan in semifinal to bow out of the Syed Modi International badminton tournament, here on Saturday.
After Rituparna's loss, India's challenge in women's singles came to an end. The 23-year-old Indian, went down fighting 22-24 15-21 to Chaiwan in a 39-minute women's singles semifinal match.
Ranked at number 40 in the World rankings, Rituparna fell behind 1-6 early on, however, she made an impressive comeback to grab a 14-11 lead at one stage.
