Rishabh, Shashikant, Princy Panchal, Harleen Kaur qualify for main draw

Chandigarh, Nov 11 (UNI) Rishabh Sharda, Shashikant Rajput, Princy Panchal and Harleen Kaur qualified for the main draw of the CLTA-AITA National Ranking Tennis Championships at the Sector 10 Government Tennis Stadium here on Sunday.
In men’s singles final qualifying round CLTA trainee Rishabh Sharda defeated Simarveer Singh of Punjab in one sided affair 6-0, 6-2. Another CHART trainee sixth seed Shashikant Rajput had to sweat a lot to overcame Ranjeet Singh. Ranjeet Singh made Shashikant Rajput earn the first set in a close encounter where eventually Rajput prevails and won 7-5. However, Shashikant did not loose his focus and won the match 7-5, 6-2.
In women’s singles final qualifying round CLTA trainee second seed Harleen Kaur had an easy outing against another local player Adity Dogra 6-0, 6-1. Harleen Kaur dominated the match with her consistent ground strokes and did not allow her opponent to came back in the match. Another CLTA trainee Princy Panchal overcame third seed Sukhmani Sahotain straight sets match 6-3, 6-0.
