Rise of Bangladeshi migrants alarmed Tripura administration

Agartala, Mar 06 (UNI) Gradual rise in migration from Bangladesh to Tripura has raised the concern of the state administration despite completion of wire fencing across more than 88 per cent of Indo-Bangladesh border along the region.
According to official statistics, illegal influx from Bangladesh has become a common phenomenon in bordering states of northeast and anti-Indian forces are using Tripura as corridor for various nefarious activities and smuggling of contrabands.
“A large number of bordering villagers of Sonamura, Kailashahar and a part of Agartala are having documents of both India and Bangladesh and frequent movement between two countries and their indulgence in cross border activities are established by now,” a top official said here today.
