RF Young Champs to play youth friendlies against top La Liga teams

New Delhi, Sep 16 (UNI) 30 talented kids from the Reliance Foundation Young Champs (RYFC) will be play a series of friendly encounters against top La Liga teams on their experiential tour to Spain, starting tomorrow.


   RYFC, India's first of its kind elite residential football academy, has been invited by La Liga, the top professional association football division of the Spanish football league system, to play youth friendlies matches against the top Spanish youth teams like Real Madrid, Atletico de Madrid, Valencia, Villarreal and Leganés.


   The tour will focus on training and playing competitive friendly matches in the U-12 and U-14 age categories. The team will be accompanied by Head Coach Mark Vaessen and his support staff. The 10-day trip also provide opportunities for these 30 Indian Young Champs to watch live LaLiga matches featuring some of the most prestigious clubs like FC Barcelona and Real Madrid etc. The visit to LaLiga is the second such experiential tour for the RF Young Champs in two years. Previously, 22 RF Young Champs had been invited by Premier League in May 2016 for youth friendlies with 9 club’s academy teams including Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United, West Bromwich etc. UNI KU SHK 1818
