Reward money for school students increased

Chandigarh/Mohali, Dec 10 (UNI) Punjab Education Minister O P Soni on Monday announced that the prize money for the winning school teams will be increased to Rs one lakh with a trophy and Rs 11,000 for each winner of academic, sports and cultural activities from next year.
The Minister was speaking on the concluding day of an academic competition, organised to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Punjab School Education Board, held in the board auditorium. On the last day of the three-day event, Chief Guest Mr Soni also gave away prizes to the winners.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Soni said that teachers of prize-winning students would also be honoured. Exhorting the winners, he inspired them to work hard to bring laurels for their district and state on the international level.
