Revenue officials seek liquor, meat for land partition; Minister orders probe in Bilaspur

Bilaspur (HP) Jan 16 (UNI) A daily wage labourer on Thursday accused officials of the Revenue Department of demanding liquor and meat in exchange for processing the partition of his ancestral land, prompting the state government to order a high-level inquiry into the allegations.
The complaint was raised during the “Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar” programme held at Kot Panchayat under the Ghumarwin Assembly constituency, in the presence of the Technical Education Minister and senior district officials.
The complainant, Sita Ram, son of Ram Lal and a resident of Brahmali village, told the gathering that he has been approaching the Revenue Department for a long time to get his land partitioned, but his case has been deliberately delayed.
