Revanth Reddy to take over as T'gana CM on Dec 7

Hyderabad, Dec 6 (UNI) Telangana Congress President A Revanth would swear-in as the Chief Minister of Telangana at the auspicious time of 1.04 PM at L.B Stadium here on Thursday.
The 56-year-old Revanth will be the second CM of Telangana after the Chandrasekhar Rao-led Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) has been in power since 2014, when Telangana was granted statehood and won the 2018 elections as well.
Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan will administer him the oath of office and secrecy.
Besides Deputy CM, 10 more congress legislators are also likely to take oath as Ministers along with 56-year-old Revanth, according to sources.
According to sources, former CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka may get Deputy CM post and other senior leaders Uttam Kumar Reddy, Sridhar Babu, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and D.Anasuya (Seethakka) will be accommodated in the cabinet.
However, the final decision on the Deputy CM and cabinet ministerial posts to be announced after reaching Revanth to the city from the National capital on Wednesday night.
After declaring his name as the next Chief Minister of Telangana state by the party high command, the CM-designated Reddy air dashed to the national capital on Tuesday evening in a special aircraft and met the Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge with Rahul Gandhi, AICC State in-charge Manikrao thakre and Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakuarm, who was the special observer to the Legislature party meet held in Hyderabad on Monday and expressed his gratitude to the leadership for his selection,
Besides Congress President Sonia,Rahul and Priyanka, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, D0 K. Shivakumar, several Karnataka ministers and party leaders from other states are likely to attend the swearing-in ceremony.
Telangana chief secretary Santhi Kumari on Tuesday instructed the officials to make elaborate arrangements in a “grand and befitting manner” for the swearing-in ceremony of the chief minister-designate Revanth Reddy.
The traffic police issued an advisory in view of the swearing ceremony tomorrow and imposed traffic restrictions between 10 a.m and 5 pm in and around the LB Stadium
The Congress party bagged 65 including its ally CPI in the 119-member assembly in Telangana in the elections held on November 30.
The nearly 10-year-old rule of the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) in Telangana came to an end on Sunday, even as Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR)tendered resignation from his post, which was accepted by Governor Tamilsai Soundararajan.
Of the 19 MLAs elected in 2018, 13 had joined BRS, leaving it incapable to even be considered the main opposition in the Telangana Assembly.
