Hyderabad, Dec 7 (UNI) Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Anumala Revanth Reddy was sworn-in as the Chief Minister of the state here on Thursday.
Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan administered the oath of office and secrecy to the 54-year-old Reddy and his 11-member Cabinet at a grand ceremony held at sprawling Lal Bahadur stadium.
Former CLP Leader Bhatti Vikramarka was sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister.
Revanth will be the second CM of Telangana after the Chandrasekhar Rao-led Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) has been in power since 2014, when Telangana was granted statehood.
Besides Revanth Reddy and Bhatti, nine other legislators took oath as Ministers, including two women. They are Uttam Kumar Reddy, D Sridhar Babu, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Tummala Nageswara Rao, Damodar Rajanarsimha, D Anasuya (popularly known as Seethakka), Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Ponnam Prabhakar Goud and Konda Surekha.
Top Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, AICC State in-charge Manikrao thakre, and Ministers from the neighbouring state attended the ceremony.
