Retired IAS Subrata Gupta appointed adviser to Bengal CM

Kolkata, May 9 (UNI) Retired IAS officer Subrata Gupta, who till recently served as the Election Commission of India's (ECI) Special Observer for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in West Bengal, was today appointed adviser to state Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari.
"The Governor is pleased to appoint Dr. Subrata Gupta, IAS (Retd), as adviser to the honourable Chief Minister, government of West Bengal, with immediate effect and until further orders," said an official notification hours after Adhikari took oath for the top job.
Meanwhile, Shantanu Bala (IAS), presently serving as the Additional District Magistrate of South 24 Parganas, has been appointed as the Private Secretary to the CM, said a government order.
