Retail inflation eases to 2.33 pc in Nov '18

New Delhi, Dec 12 (UNI) Retail inflation has declined to 2.33 per cent in November, 2018 due to fall in food and fuel prices, the government data showed on Wednesday.
The retail inflation stood at 3.38 per cent in October this year while it was 4.88 per cent in November last year.
The food inflation pegged at -2.61 per cent in November, 2018. In rural and urban areas, it was recorded at -2.33 per cent and -3.04 per cent respectively, the Statistics and Programme Implementation Ministry said here.
Within the index, vegetable category inflation fell to -15.59 per cent, food and beverage to -1.69 per cent, egg to -3.92 per cent and pulses and products to -9.22 per cent.
Inflation numbers for clothing and footwear category was 3.53 per cent and Housing 5.99 per cent. However, fuel and light inflation stood at 7.39 per cent.
