New Delhi, Jan 29 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said Republic Day is not just the celebration of the occasion of laying foundation of "Democracy' in the country, but also a befitting occasion to express gratitude, love and honour towards the valiant armed forces of the country. In his monthly 'Mann Ki Baat" programme aired on the All India Radio, Mr Modi, remembering the awarded jawans and martyrs, exhorted the countrymen to observe a two-minute silence at 1100 hrs tomorrow, that is January 30, on the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, in remembrance of the martyred jawans and pay their homage to those, who willingly die for the motherland. Mr Modi appealed to those youngsters, who take to social media to write on various topics, to gather information about those brave soldiers this time who were awarded at the parade, write something about them and forward it to friends and relatives. 'Through this initiative, more and more people will get to know about the brave deeds of the courageous soldiers. The task of the soldiers will be taken seriously, we will feel proud of them and get inspired by them', he added. Expressing solidarity towards the jawans, who succumbed to the avalanche on January 26 in Kashmir, the Prime Minister said, 'On one hand, we were excited about the Republic Day and its celebrations and on the other hand, our soldiers who were standing like a rock in defence of the nation, were matryred due to avalanche in Kashmir.
