Bhopal, Nov 28 (UNI) Even as 70 electronic voting machines (EVMs) and Voter-Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) units were replaced today following complaints and technical glitches as polling continued across 230 assembly constituencies in Madhya Pradesh, the principal-opposition Congress alleged that such snags are stalling the democratic process.
The highest number of 17 EVMs and VVPAT units were replaced in Guna district. Figures were 11 in Raghogarh constituency, four in Gwalior, a few in Bhopal district's Huzur and Narela.
"I have received reports of long queues at polling centres due to faulty EVMs. The Election Commission should initiate immediate action," Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee President and former Union Minister Kamal Nath wrote on social media.
