Renault unveils SUV Renault Captur

Panaji, Sep 23 (UNI) Renault, a French maultinational auto maunufactuerer, unveiled its premium sports utility vehicle (SUV) with crossover DNA – Renault Captur- at a hotel in South Goa last night.
Built on the globally successful B0 platform, Renault CAPTUR has been designed and developed leveraging the prowess of Renault India and global teams. Renault has commenced the production of CAPTUR and is preparing for a festive season launch, with bookings open from September 22 on the Renault CAPTUR App and Renault India website at an initial booking amount of Rs 25,000.
Speaking at the unveiling, Country CEO and Managing Director, Renault India Operations, Sumit Sawhney said, “Our growth strategy hinges strongly on launching products that cater to the volume and growing segments of the Indian automotive industry, representing evolving customer preferences.''
Over the last few years, SUV sales were growing exponentially, making it the fastest growing segment in India and Renault CAPTUR was a globally successful premium SUV and was widely acclaimed for its stunning expressive design, premium and class-leading features and the high levels of personalization that could be achieved with the car.
''Renault CAPTUR will further strengthen our position in the fast-growing SUV segment and will set new benchmarks with its global styling and unmatched road presence,” he said.
Renault CAPTUR would come with both petrol and diesel power trains. For the petrol option, it would be powered by the 16 valves four cylinder 1.5L H4K petrol engine mated to a five speed manual gear box, producing 106 PS at 5,600 rpm and 142 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.
The diesel version would be powered by the 1.5L K9K diesel engine (common rail injection), mated to six speed manual gear box, delivering a maximum power of 110 PS at 4,000 rpm and peak torque of 240 Nm at 1,750 rpm.
