Renault to bring new car every year in Indian market

Chandigarh, Mar 24 (UNI) French car maker Renault India Country Chief Executive Officer(CEO) and Managing Director Sumit Sahney today said the company will bring a new car every year in the Indian market.

Interacting with media during the launch of company’s small hatchback car Kwid in new avatar ‘Kwid Climber’, he said Renault has set a long vision for Indian market and not only set up a sizable 4.8 lakh capacity manufacturing plant in Chennai but also have two design centres in Chennai and Mumbai and a logistic centre in Pune involving a big investment.


Describing the Kwid a truly Make in India car with nearly 98 percent localization, he said the vehicle has proved to be a game changer in India auto market so far selling over 1.30 lakh units.


About new Kwid Climber, Mr Sahney said it has been brought with 1.0 SCe(Smart Control efficiency) powertrain engine in both manual and Automatic transmission(AMT) with seventeen new styling features to give customers superlative experience of driving a SUV inspired designed vehicle.


The company has also started export of Kwid to countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, Mauritius, Bhutan and South Africa since end of year 2016. UNI RKS DB SW 1843
