Islamabad, Nov 27 (UNI) Pakistan's rural areas are "thriving" due to bumper crops leading to "record sales of motorcycles", said Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance and Revenue Shaukat Tarin while citizens struggle to buy basic food items amid high inflation.
Citing World Bank's latest data showing a drop in Pakistan's poverty level by 1 per cent, the Minister said, “Our problem is inflation, which has affected the lower middle class in urban areas the worst."
Speaking at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Friday, he claimed the rural areas are "thriving" due to bumper crops and that led to "record sales of motorcycles".
